Title: The Gift of Salvation
Scripture: Ephesians 2:8-9
Salvation is a gift that we do not deserve. It is by God’s grace that we have been saved through faith in Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” Salvation is a gift from God that we cannot earn, but we can receive through faith in Jesus Christ.
Salvation is not just a one-time event, but a lifelong journey of growing in our relationship with God. Once we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we begin a new life in him. We are no longer slaves to sin, but are now children of God. Romans 6:22-23 says, “But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
The gift of salvation is available to all who believe in Jesus Christ. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This means that no matter who we are or what we have done, we can receive the gift of salvation by putting our faith in Jesus Christ.
So today, let us thank God for the gift of salvation. Let us remember that it is by his grace and not by our works that we have been saved. Let us also remember that salvation is a journey of growing in our relationship with God, and that it is available to all who believe in Jesus Christ.
Prayer: Dear God, thank you for the gift of salvation. Thank you for your grace and for sending Jesus Christ to die for our sins. Help us to grow in our relationship with you, and to share the gift of salvation with others. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
